These photos are from nearly 400 slides made during my tour in Viet Nam, March 1968-March 1969. I was a 21 year-old Air Force Sergeant when I arrived at Bien Hoa Air Base north of Sai Gon.  From March-October 1968 I was assigned to a Forward Air Control (FAC) team directing air strikes for the 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division at Lai Khe, 60 km north of Bien Hoa Air Base.  From October 1968-March 1969 I was assigned to Advisory Team #55 in Rach Gia, a fishing village on the west coast of the Mekong Delta.  While Air Force pilots directed fighter-bombers to their targets, I worked from a radio jeep or a Tactical Operation Center (TOC).  Sometimes I flew in the back seat of the 0-1E Cessna “Bird Dog.”
